Meet Jessica Jaramillo
Jessica Jaramillo was born in Yuma, Arizona on a military base, where she was raised until her family relocated to Fort Bend County, Texas in 1998. She studied Criminal Justice and Biology at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2007. She attended South Texas College of Law Houston, graduated in May 2011, and passed the Texas Bar Exam in November 2011.
She began her legal career as a solo practitioner on November 4, 2011 and has maintained a successful practice for fourteen years and counting. During her career, she has practiced in many areas, especially juvenile law, family law, criminal law, probate law, civil law, eviction defense, and appellate law. She has spent a large portion of her time dedicating herself to representing the most vulnerable populations, the indigent and children.
Most recently, Jessica Jaramillo has worked providing access to justice for military veterans through the Randall O. Sorrells Legal Clinics at South Texas College of Law Houston.
She has also provided pro-bono expunctions and non-disclosures to individuals requesting to remove their criminal history to obtain employment.
Jessica Jaramillo has advocated for children and families affected by human trafficking, child abuse and neglect, family violence, juvenile delinquency, custody disputes, poverty, and motor vehicle accidents. She is experienced in criminal law, probate law, civil law, juvenile law, family law, and appellate law. She is a court approved mediator, amicus attorney, and guardian ad litem. She has written both criminal and civil appeals and argued twice before the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas. She has tried cases many counties, including but not limited to, Fort Bend County, Harris County, Brazoria County, Wharton County, and Burleson County.
Jessica Jaramillo is a proud wife and mother. She is active in her community and has volunteered in many capacities at her church and Saint Theresa Catholic School in Sugar Land, Texas. Jessica Jaramillo also serves her community in various capacities as Councilwoman for the City of Rosenberg. She has served the city on many boards and committees during her term as Councilwoman.
